PeoplePerHour

PeoplePerHour is a UK-based freelance marketplace founded in 2007 by Xenios Thrasyvoulou and Simos Kitiris. The platform operates primarily online, providing a space where businesses can connect with freelancers to commission work on a flexible basis. This model is particularly appealing to startups and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that prefer hiring freelancers for specific projects instead of engaging full-time employees or traditional agencies, thereby allowing them to scale operations more flexibly. The platform offers a variety of services across multiple categories such as technology and programming, writing and translation, design, digital marketing, and more. Clients can post projects detailing their requirements, and freelancers can then respond with tailored proposals. PeoplePerHour employs an artificial intelligence system to match projects with the most suitable freelancers based on the project's specifics, which helps streamline the selection process. Financial transactions on the platform are safeguarded through an escrow system, ensuring that payments are only released to freelancers once the client is satisfied with the delivered work. This setup not only protects the client's investment but also supports freelancers in managing their project payments efficiently.

PeoplePerHour stands out in the freelance marketplace due to its UK presence, offering local collaborations and attracting international talent. The platform focuses on fixed-price services with add-ons, simplifying the hiring process for businesses. This model allows freelancers to sell specific services at set prices, eliminating the need for extensive negotiations. PeoplePerHour also provides robust escrow protection and invoicing systems, ensuring secure payments and effective dispute management. This adds a layer of trust and reliability for both freelancers and clients, making it a valuable choice for freelancers and businesses seeking a flexible and reliable platform.
